A Mother’s Wish, Honoured with Compassion

One of our clients came to us with a deeply personal concern surrounding her blended family dynamics. Having children from her first marriage and another child from her second marriage, she understood that family relationships and expectations could become more complex after her passing.

More than wealth distribution, her greatest concern was ensuring her daughter would always have a proper place to call home.

During our conversations, she openly shared her worries about balancing two important priorities — preserving shelter and security for her daughter while remaining respectful to the principles of faraidh and the rights of other beneficiaries.

As we guided her through the planning process, it became clear that providing long-term stability and protection for her daughter was one of the most important intentions she hoped to preserve through her estate planning.

Together, we explored suitable continuity planning options that could help honour both her family responsibilities and her faith-based obligations with greater clarity and structure.

More importantly, while she was still alive, we facilitated meaningful family conversations among her children to openly discuss her wishes, concerns, and intentions. These conversations created understanding, clarity, and mutual respect within the family long before any estate matters needed to be carried out.

Three years after engaging our services, she returned to her Creator.

Today, her family continues to honour the wishes she thoughtfully expressed during her lifetime.

With understanding and cooperation among the siblings, they ensured that their step-sister continues to have proper shelter and security, while still respecting the principles of faraidh and fulfilling their responsibilities with compassion and dignity.
